Building and scaling teams and company culture has always been a priority and talent of Peter Geiregat, Chie
f People Officer of TVH and formerly of Showpad. Peter’s unique journey has ranged from law school to nonprofit work in Eastern Europe, to the tech sector.
Peter now faces an exciting challenge - transforming culture in an already successful global organization, with a presence in over 80 countries, a long history and strong value set. Peter believes you begin by rethinking everything and trying new ideas, all with the same focus: Will this make the proverbial boat go faster? Making large scale transformational change translates into reducing the noise, identifying just a few large priorities; and balancing quick, short term wins with longer term projects.
Here are my three big takeaways from the conversation:
His earlier work with nonprofits and NGOs, where everyone was clear on their purpose and why they were there, made him realize that clarity and context are essential ingredients for a high performing and happy team.
Balancing quick wins with long term goals helps people to see the needle moving forward, which can inspire more motivation and energy towards longer term goals.
Perfectionism is the enemy of a growth mindset and learning culture.
With all of Peter’s varied life experiences and career, I know you’ll find a lot of gold in this episode.
